First Announcement: 17th Charles Heidelberger Symposium on Cancer Research,

Novosibirsk, Russia, June 1-3, 2011

On behalf of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biophysics, Institute of Oncology and Siberian Branch of Medical Academy of Russia, it is our privilege and pleasure to extend an invitation to all interested in cancer research to participate in 17th Charles Heidelberger Symposium on Cancer Research to be held in Novosibirsk, Russia, June 1 to 3, 2011.

The Symposium continues the line of well-recognized International meetings initiated in 80’s by co-workers of Professor Charles Heidelberger.

The 17th Symposium will be organized in Novosibirsk, the Science-saturated millennium city in the geographic center of emerging country – Russia. Novosibirsk is the Center and largest city of Siberia, where Tran-Siberian Rail Way crosses the gorgeous river Ob.

Traditionally, the Symposium consists of three days lectures covering the major topics of cancer research with parallel poster session. The sessions would entail various aspects of prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatments in oncology. In addition, there will be sessions on genetic and molecular aspects of cancer, mechanisms of carcinogenesis. Participants of the Symposium will present and discuss cutting edge research on the mentioned topics.

This Symposium will bring together prominent investigators who are at the forefront of their research fields and will provide unique opportunities for early career investigators, postdoctoral and graduate students to present their work in poster format. Competitive posters will be selected for short oral presentations. The interdisciplinary atmosphere of this Symposium will generate and inspire ideas that will bring new impacts to the cancer- related research.

The official language of the Symposium is English, including lec­tures and printed materials.
